Business English - the shop floor


 PRODUCTION the ordinary workers in a factory, rather than the managers:
The pay gap between the boardroom and the shop floor in Britain is now the widest in Europe.
Union membership is low at this plant - about 35% of total employment and 50% of the shop floor.
